Nothing more to say than that. Sox score 6 in the bottom of the 9th to upset Baltimore, and we can't buy a hit in the 8th or 9th innings with runners in scoring position and a one run deficit. Our lineup of high priced All Stars is now 8 games in back of the Red Sox and 5.5 in back of Cleveland for the wild card.
Whatever happens from now on, this should never have happened until now. $200 million of horseshit.

I can understand your despair.
The rational side of me tells me that Yankee pitching is substantially improving, and that the Yankees still have a great offense. In essence, that it's a question of getting the pitchers and the hitters hot at the same time for, oh, 10-15 games.
But the emotional side of me is starting to wonder if this Yankee team simply doesn't have enough pride.
I know that the sabermetric worldview doesn't give much credence to subjective things like pride and fire-in-the-belly. But I'm eclectic and old fashioned enough to still think that sometimes pounding on the table wakes people up.
