Sancti Spiritus at 22 Straight

If you saw my recent piece on Cuban superstar Yulieski Gourriel, you'll know that his ballclub Sancti Spiritus is in the middle of an historical run. As of the 14th of April, Sancti has amassed an incredible 22 consecutive victories. The record of 27 straight was set 35 years ago by the Habana club.

Gourriel helped SS extend the streak to 22 with two triples in an 8 to 0 victory over the aforementioned Habana. The victory has vaulted "the Gallos" into a first place tie with Industriales in Group B. The two triples gave Gourriel 49 extra base hits on the season, which has set a new record in Cuban Federation Baseball. Remarkable.
